Introduction
Our venue use is Sunday-only, so maintenance and care focus on readiness and upkeep between services. Proper practices ensure longevity and reliability of gear.
Weekly and Monthly Tasks
- Remove all floor tapes and declutter storage after each service.
- Charge all remaining rechargeable batteries, walkie talkies, and work lights before/during the service.
- Adhere strictly to cable labelling; fix worn labels promptly and return cables to designated bags.
- Discard any cables that are beyond repair to avoid future failures.
- Cover speakers properly during storage and transport to prevent damage.
- Charge batteries for wireless mics and in-ear monitors Sunday before service.
- Follow labeled storage and packing instructions carefully for all equipment boxes.
Storage Procedures
- Store all cables neatly coiled in mesh bags, respecting length and type.
- Keep microphones, wireless mics, and IEM units in their dedicated bags, fully charged.
- Ensure all gear is protected against dust, moisture, and temperature extremes.
- Use designated storage boxes with clear labelling for accessories, power cables, and utilities.
Damage and Issue Reporting
- Immediately report malfunctioning or damaged gear to senior engineers.
- Mark damaged items with notes detailing the issue.
- Do not attempt to make repairs beyond your training; leave it to qualified personnel.
